I recently moved house, and while being on maternity leave this year has been a time where I'm always picking up dirty nappies, sicky clothes, and tripping over coffee mugs, I decided to add dust sheets and paint tins to the mix.
I thought while I'm on maternity leave this would be the best opportunity to start a new project and having a baby last year made me realise I wanted to settle into my "forever home".
We decided to get stuck straight in, ripping off wallpaper, taking up the old carpets and chucking out any unwanted clutter.
First on the agenda has been the master bedroom. I wanted the bedroom to be super chilled, cosy and relaxing.
I had seen the coolest SoftFrame bed online that I just couldn't get hold of here in the UK. After hours and hours of trawling the internet and pretty much accepting that the perfect Pinterest bed just wasn't possible for my new neutral bedroom, I found an amazing alternative right under my nose made by the Stringer Brothers based in Holmfirth, next to Huddersfield (my home town).
It's lovely chunky linen bed frame is the absolute dream and is without a doubt my favourite piece in the room. I accessorised with H&M home white linen bedding which is really soft and looks even better when wrinkled so no need for the iron!
The cushions and throw were also H&M home which give that lovely rustic finish I was wanting. The oversized cushions were just what I was looking for to fill my new superking bed!
Now I don't know a lot about bedroom furniture, but I'm obsessed with Swoon and have quite a few pieces from there so the bedroom was going to be no exception. I picked up some drawers on eBay in a lovely oak stained mango wood which really compliment the earthy neutrals of the room.
This rustic white washed wooden lamp from Zara Home is so cosy with the linen shade, I love it paired with my Sochella Home print.
The scent I've chosen for the bedroom is The White Company Capri, with notes of watermelon, cucumber & basil. It's so lovely a refreshing and perfect for spring through to summer.
